In 1986, this family had its beginning when Brenda and Mark became best of friends. We spent time together sharing our dreams, visions, and purposes that we believed that God had called us into, and we were excited about sharing that adventure together. As we have pursued that purpose, we have been given opportunity and drive to focus on the Hindu/Muslim community.
In growing together, we have been given three extraordinary children. Charla (Charlie) is 15 years old, Alyssa (Lyssa) is 11 years old, and Steven-Mark is 8 years old. Each has there own special gifts. Charlie is the strong one. She has the ability to meld into any occasion, and the Holy Spirit ability to share love through music, and art. She is what we call the “Super Promoter.” Lyssa is the empathetic one. She has the ability to feel the emotions of a situation. She is able to take that power and express it through almost any art form. She is what we call the “Super Expresser.” And, Steven-Mark is the builder. He has an inexhaustible imagination to fit the needs of any situation. He is hard to hold him back from trying again and again any endeavor. He is what we call the “Super Creator.”
Each of us in this family believe that we have a calling and purpose to share the gifts we’ve been given.
“11Jesus and the people he
makes holy all belong to the same family. That is why he isn’t ashamed
to call them his brothers and sisters.”
Hebrews 2:11, Contemporary English Version.
Dear Mark & Brenda,
I am glad to hear about your ministry from a friend of mine, Ashley Andersen from Chicago. I am an Indian Christian, married to an American. We both love the Lord and serve Him. We are not missionaries (although I consider myself a missionary to the US), but love to work with the Indian community at the Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (SIUC), in Illinois. I am blessed to know that you are called to the Hindu community in the US. We have seen all-out radical conversions to the Lord among hindu students here at our campus church. It is marvelous to see them baptized in water and in the Holy Spirit, get discipled and see them reach out to other hindus. May the Lord bless you. I will be at The World Missions Summit in Cincinnati, OH this year end. If you are planning to attend we will meet with you there. God Bless!
